Reading: This week we will be learning about comparing and contrasting. Also students will be receiving a wordly wise vocabulary packet on Monday. In class we will be practicing these words throughout the week, and the packet will need to be completed and turned in by Thursday. There will be a reading activity that goes along with these words given to the students on Friday in class.  *Students will need to turn in their reading log on Friday!*

Language: Throughout this week we will be learning about the importance of word knowledge and making the correct word choice when writing.

Spelling: Our words this week include our wordly wise words as well as some science vocabulary words. All students will receive a spelling packet on Monday that will help them practice their spelling words throughout the week. The spelling packet will assist them in practicing their words, which will help them to prepare for their Spelling Test on Friday.

Math: This week in math we will begin our studies on Unit 4 Addition, Subtraction, and Measurement. This week’s tentative topics are: add, round, and compare, the standard algorithm for multi-digit addition, think before you add checkpoint, and removal vs differencing and constant difference. Please encourage your child to be practicing his or her multiplication facts, it makes everything we are learning in math much easier if they know them.

Science: In Science this week we will be concluding our studies on Chapter 7 as well as reviewing what we have learned. We will be testing on Chapter 7 on Friday this week, so the students should be studying a little bit each night to help prepare them for the test.

Social Studies: Social Studies this week will consist of us continuing our studies on Chapter 6 the American Revolution. This week we will begin our studies on Lesson 4: The War Moves West
