Short week!!

WOW.... Off on Monday and early dismissal on Tuesday! I know your kids are loving it!

From here on out I will *try* to start posting our Learning Script for the week each week on this page. That way, you will know what to quiz your kiddo on when he/she gets home! :)  Don't forget to check the spelling list under Superstar Spelling and the Assignments under Now Showing!

JAN 21-24 Overview of the Week

In Science we will begin studying the Water Cycle! Evaporation, condensation, and precipitation are words that your child should become very familiar with this week!

In Social Studies, we are continuing our study of the American Revolution! We are learning about the Declaration of Independence! "A special statement explaining why we wanted to be free. *clap clap*"

In Math, we are continuing to work on Fractions! This week we will be finding equivalent fractions, simplifying fractions, changing improper fractions to mixed numbers and vice versa, comparing fractions, and ordering fractions! WHEW!

In Reading, our story is called The Right Dog for the Job. It is about a dog that is training to be a working dog for a blind man. The kids really love this story because they (for the most part) love dogs! :)

In Language, we will be working with possessive pronouns (my, mine, her, hers, his, its, ours, their, theirs, etc.) , contractions with pronouns (I'm, I've, we've, he'd, etc.), and homophones!

Our spelling words are on the Superstar Spelling page!

Have a great week!

In school news..... We have started our study on the American Revolution! (My very favorite part of history to teach!) The kiddos have enjoyed making History Pockets full of information about the Revolutionary War and the causes of it. We will continue making pockets for the next few weeks while we learn all about the 13 colonies vs. England!

On Wednesday of next week, we will have a Game Hour for the last hour of the day! Please remember that your child may bring electronics, but he/she must turn it in to me at the beginning of the day!

Don't forget! NO SCHOOL MONDAY! Have a wonderful and LONG weekend! :)
